The Springfield Oregon Kingsford Manufacturing Company charcoal facility has been in operation for over 50 years. Today, the 40+ acre site is home to over 90 employees manufacturing a substantial portion of the charcoal consumed nationally and in some areas of the globe.
Kingsford embodies the values and culture of the Springfield community, investing in career growth opportunities for their employees and boasting some of the lowest turnover rates in the region. They are also a proud wood products company, utilizing fiber waste from local timber manufacturers as the base input to create charcoal.
The City of Springfield works closely with Kingsford to support workforce development and promotion as well as logistical support along local infrastructure when needed.
